PSP developer Takka who many thought had left the PSP scene is back with an update to the ISO Tool bringing it to version 1.980.  You can do a lot of stuff with this without using your PC.  Mostly included are bug fixes but he did add some additional functionality as well.

[PSP Tool] PSP LCFW 6.XX PRO-B10 Fix

Hrimfaxi has posted an fix for LCFW PRO B10. Its said to fix the fixed buffer overflow bug. Now I haven't heard of anyone having this issue or any bricks etc. Maybe its rare, nevertheless if your running PRO-B10 or going to install it, then grab this fix. This is for models that are fully hackable. Your PSP-1000′s and PSP-2000′s before the TA-088v3 motherboards. If your on a PSP-3000 or Go you don't have to worry about this.

[PSP Tools] Custom HOME beta 0.8.3 Released!

ABCanG has updated his Custom HOme PRX plug-in to version 0.8.3. You remember this one, its like a VSH menu but different. It works ingame and you can shut down your PSP, but it in standby, connect the usb storage and more right from in a game. No exiting to the XMB to connection up USB storage.

This update fixes a suspend issue.

Program designed to allow you to install any version of HEN and CFW present for the original firmware 6.20. The program also allows you to install CXMB (compatible with 6.20) and custom version.txt, with related guides.

[PSP Tools] 6.XX Downgrader v4 Released!

Homebrew developer some1 is back on the scene to release a new version of his modified downgrader, adding support to firmware 6.60 and more!


Changelog:

• Fixed 6.60 problem that didn't allow to downgrade to anything greater than 6.20, thanks to Davee


• Allows any updater that is greater than or equal to the factory installed OFW (Has not been fully tested, will most likely work on 500 and up)

Developer's note:

After a long wait, here is the port of Davee's 6.35/6.31 downgrader to 6.60/6.39/6.38.

This is a very simple app, just put the desired destination OFW in PSP/GAME/UPDATE, and the app will read the factory installed OFW (aka, the OFW it came with), and allow any updater greater than or equal to this OFW. The range for this has NOT been tested, so I do not know which OFWs it is possible to downgrade to, for which model, but I've tested from 6.60 to 6.20 and 6.35, 6.39 should also work. If you use the wrong updater, the update itself will error out or go back to XMB.

The dev added that the latest update of the downgrader was made possible by Davee's discovery of a new kernel exploit on the firmware 6.60, which he then handed to Zecoxao, who later shared the exploit to him. And just a little reminder before you proceed, be sure to know what you are doing before downgrading.

 (Note: If you are on 6.61 or higher your out of luck)

To start select your PSP to download a OFW: (Note: This is OFW 6.20 because a HEN is available for it)

Extract the rar file using 7zip or winRAR. You will then find a file named EBOOT.PBP.


1: Using your PC, create a folder named "PSP". Within the "PSP" folder, create a folder named "GAME". Within the "GAME" folder, create a folder named "UPDATE". (Folder names must be in all uppercase letters).

2: Copy the EBOOT.PBP you downloaded to your UPDATE folder.

Now you have to download a downgrader to downgrade your PSP's firmware to 6.20 OFW. 

(This downgrader works only for 6.31 OFW / 6.35 OFW / 6.38 OFW / 6.39 OFW / 6.60 OFW)

To start


Now extract 6.xx Downgrader.zip file using 7zip or winRAR. You will then find a folder named PSP open it up and you will see a folder named GAME open that up and you will see a folder named 6.xx Downgrader v4

Now copy the 6.xx Downgrader v4 folder to your PSP GAME folder.

3: To start the update data. Select either (Memory Stick) or (System Storage) under (Game) from the home menu, and then select . Press thebutton to start the update.

Then you will see this message. Now you laugh at SONY and Press the button on the downgrader. 

After the SONY updater is finished you will get a BSOD, all you have to do is press button

If your PSP's motherboard module is 07g/09g, this means you can only downgrade to 6.35 OFW. To find out if you have 07g or 09g you have to download PSP Module Checker v1.0.

To start
MEDIAFIRE, WUPLOAD (MIRROR)

Now extract ModuleCheckerv1.zip file using 7zip or winRAR. You will then find a folder named PSP open it up and you will see a folder named GAME open that up and you will see a folder named ModuleChecker

Now copy the ModuleChecker folder to your PSP GAME folder.

Now run ModuleChecker from the PSP XMB [Game], the program will tell you what module you have.

Here is 6.35 OFW just follow the same instruction as 6.20 OFW, all you do is use 6.35 OFW instead.

[PSP Tools] Official PSP Firmware 6.60 Released.

PSP Firmware 6.60 aka PSP OFW 6.60 has been release not too long ago to the Playstation Community . PSP Firmware 6.60 was develop and release by Sony Playstation to offer a bit more security and features on the PSP and PSP Go System . But most of all this new PSP firmware 6.39 patches some of the 6.39 kernel that were made available before for creating HEN and or CFW . However, PSP CFW Developer Neur0n has already started working on a new PSP CFW and has been playing with it. So maybe in a couple of days or weeks we should see a new PSP Custom Firmware 6.60 release . However, if you are not into Custom Firmware and are always updating to the latest PSP Firmware , Then go ahead and download PSP Firmware 6.60 . This PSP firmware release should still be able to let users run signed homebrew and signed application if compatible . Feel free to download PSP Firmware 6.60 via our download section .

Download procedure

1. Prepare to save the update data on Memory Stick Duo™ media, using one of the following methods:
   • Connect the PSP^® system to the PC using the USB cable
   
   
   • Connect a commercially available Memory Stick USB reader/writer to the PC
   
   
   • Use the Memory Stick slot on the PC
   
   


2. Create a folder for the update data on Memory Stick Duo™ media.
   
   Using your PC, create a folder named "PSP". Within the "PSP" folder, create a folder named "GAME". Within the "GAME" folder, create a folder named "UPDATE". (Folder names must be in all uppercase letters).

[PSP Tool]6.20 TN-E Permanent Patch v3

Some of us are still on Total_Noob’s 6.20 TN-E (HEN) and using the permanent patch to boot directly into 6.20 TN without having to first run the loader and reboot. Well version 3 of the permanent patch is now out from coder Frostegater. The New fixes include an option to hide the Settings menu TN xmbCTRL and the ability to reinstall the patch.
The developer choose to also include an ISO / CSO loader, so this permanent patch has a built in ISO/CSO loader…

[PSP Tools] PSP Custom Firmware 6.39 ME-8 Beta 2 for PSP Go

Neur0n has released Custom Firmware 6.39 ME-8 for PSP Go owners (05g). This has all the features of PSP Custom Firmware 6.39 ME-8 and this release is a beta 2 which fixed the UMD video cache issue. Originally this CFW was only intended for up to PSP Slim TA-088v2′s/ However the custom firmware ME has progress to the state Nuer0n was able to port it over to the Go.

[PSP Tool] CFW 6.39/6.35/6.20 PRO-B8 Released!

The PRO Team has released the official PRO-B8 Custom Firmware for Firmware 6.20 , 6.35 and 6.39!

 INSTALLATION

*STEPS*(for 6.20 pro b8)
1. Download the file below(for your psp)
2. Open it and plug in your psp
3. Put the Perma patch and the Pro update in your game folder(ms0:/psp/game)
4. Go to your psp and run the pro update then the patch

*STEPS*(for 6.35 and 6.39 pro b8)
1. Do step 1 and 2 above
2. Open the file and put fast recovery and pro update in your game folder (ms0:/psp/game)
3. Run the pro update
4. PS: the 6.35 and 6.39 are not permanent so if your psp crashes you must run the fast recovery.

Too bad that I can’t really say I’ve been a big part in this one…
Yeah… my summer job ranks higher than PRO… sad but true. I hope I can get that one done fast…

[PSP Tools] PSP CFW 6.39 TN-A Hen released

 Total_Noob has released 6.39 TN- now that there is a public kernal exploit.
It seems it is just  a port of 6.20 TN-E (fix) but it does note there are some known bugs fixed.

It does  notesthat this is not the return of Total_Noob, but only offers a choice to 6.39 users instead of using PRO/ME, and is mainly for TN fans out there. 

This HEN supports as always PS1 Games, Plugins, Homebrews. ISOs are not supported, use them with aLoader 1.25.

[PSP Tools] How to Downgrade PSP FW 6.38 to 6.XX

Works on PSP 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000 (newer 3000) or PSPgo!

You can downgrade with this downgrader from Firmware 6.38 to Firmware 6.20. From Firmware 6.35 to Firmware 6.20. And from Firmware 6.31 to Firmware 6.20.

Supported models:
PSP1000 [01g], PSP2000 [02g], PSP3000 [03g / 04g], PSPGo[05g]

Unsupported models:
PSP 3000 = 07g / 09g, etc. Can not be used (with error display)

I tested it by myself on a PSPgo with Datecode 9C and Firmware 6.38 ;=).

For this, you will need:

- PSP 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000 (newer 3000) or PSPgo

- a supported PSP model

-6.38/6.35/6.31 -> 6.20 Downgrader By Davee, ported to 6.38 by some1  MEDIAFIRE. FILESONIC
-Official PSP Firmware 6.20 for PSPgo or normal PSP

Tutorial

1.Extract the downloaded archive.

2.Ms0: (ef0 / PSP / GAME / copy the Downgrader to this folder.

Ms0: (ef0 / PSP / GAME / UPDATE / copy the official Firmware 6.20 Updater (EBOOT.PBP) to this folder.

3.It should look like this:

4.Launch the Downgrader from your XMB.

5.Press X to start the SCE Updater.

6.The 6.20 updater will appear, update as always.

7.Now a BSOD (blue screen) will appear:

[PSP Tools] 6.20 TN-E Permanent Patch *Update: v2*

Coder Frostegater releases 6.20 TN-E permanent patch for 6.20 TN-E by Total_Noob, this will install 6.20 TN-E (HEN) into internal flash, and in every reboot the Homebrew enabler will be installed automatically into your internal flash.

Warning: There have been cases of bricks, but even on the Go some Users were able to install it correctly. Needless to say, I do not recommend to anyone who did not use the PSP compatible with Pandora and MS! PSP Go! assumes no liability for any damage to the console.

Installation:

1) Download the archive.
2) Copy the directory “TN_E_PermanentPatc” to “PSP / GAME /” on your Memory Stick or PSPGo! System Memory.
3) Launch the homebrew from your PSP.
4) Press X
5) Press O
